Transcript:

(00:00) [Music] Now listen that’s different that’s a pop  song I’m Elvis Presley, Here is Elvis welcome to   the Elvis Presley Special. good evening, ladies  and gentlemen welcome to the Elvis Presley show. dear viewers I’ll keep this introductory talk  short because this video is richly filled and   not with just Elvis news this time because in this  video I make a personal confession to you and I   have an important announcement to make both things  take up quite a substantial part of the video   apart from that I also found some very  interesting news tidbits that I hope are

(01:00) interesting to you as well so let me  not delay any longer and start right   away with a new episode of the Elvis  Presley news report of June 2025. One sentence in a Facebook posting can stir quite  a commotion, especially when it is posted on the   Facebook page of Baz Luhrmann.

(01:30) This is the  latest concerning his upcoming Elvis Concert   Footage film. Quote: “Speaking of EP….EPiC (Elvis  Presley In Concert) before the end of the year!   Three weeks after this Facebook posting,  Baz made the following contribution on   his Facebook page. Quote: Staring at this  screen day and night. Can’t wait to share   it with you! End of quote.

(01:59) As you can see  is that his text is accompanied by a photo   of Elvis that looks like it’s been taken  during his 1957 Honolulu concert in Hawaii.   Now this is really odd as I always thought  that his upcoming movie would only consist   of footage and outtakes taken from Elvis In  Concert and TTWII. Three days later Baz made   another posting on his Facebook and wrote the  text: Midweek sneak-peek from the workspace…   As soon as there is more information about this  subject, you will hear of course on this channel! A formerly unreleased clip of Elvis which runs  for over a little more than just 2 minutes

(02:43) has recently been found in the vaults of Fox  Television. The date of the taping is October 29,   1956 and Elvis is shooting a new ending scene  in New York City for his Love Me Tender movie.   The big names at the studio felt that  after seeing the pre-view of the film,   a new ending should be created  for the film.

(03:07) This decision was   made to somewhat soften Elvis’  death in the film for viewers.   Director Robert Webb therefor chose to film  a new scene that has a ghostly image hovering   over the mourners walking away from the  grave. It appears as if Elvis’s hair may be   dyed black in this scene, which is a bit strange  because throughout the rest of movie he has his   natural hair colour.

(03:48) Is this evidence that that  there is hair dye shop in heaven? The clip also   shows Elvis talking to news reporters  and signing autographs for his fans   and eventually walking towards his car. Love  Me Tender was a Twentieth Century Fox movie,   so that is probably the reason why this  clip was found in the Fox Archives. [Music]   oh hey hi there you just caught me while I’m  in the middle of making this video i have a   confession to make to you for years I regularly  bought Elvis Presley bootleg CDs and the follow

(05:01) their dream CDs when at a certain point I  noticed that the supply became too large to   keep up with I decided to stop buying these CDs  after all I could no longer see the forest for   the trees and there was barely time to enjoy  the CDs then I decided to leave this path and   from then on to concentrate on the large and  expensive Follow that Dream box sets [Music] the first set they released was a hit for me  and I consider myself lucky to have the box   set A Boy from Tupelo in my possession i still  enjoy the book the information it contains and

(06:03) the music on the CDs after a bar from Dupelo  the next set was dedicated to Viva Las Vegas   and you will understand that the making of  Viva Las Vegas became the next addition to   my collection after the success of the making  of Vivvil Vegas the FTD writing duo Pal Ganlut   and David English really got started creating  several books in the series the making of the   production of their box sets coincided with the  period when I was spending more and more time   on my Elvis Pressing News Report videos many  people have no idea of the time I spend making

(06:47) my videos as a stutterer and as a perfectionist I  spend an average of about 30 hours a month before   I am satisfied with a stemmer-free 20inut  video and that’s all time I cannot spend on   other things and here comes my confession in  recent years I have faithfully purchased all   the making of book sets but I still have them  all in their packaging look here the making of   Elvis on Tour the making of Jailhouse Rock the  making of King Creole the making of Blue Hawaii   and this one over here extremely heavy it’s the  making of That’s the way it is i simply haven’t

(07:48) even had the time to open them or enjoy them  now an Elvis friend of me once told me “You   keep them in the cardboard so that you can  sell them again at a later time at a high   profit.” But that’s really not the case because  when I open up the cardboard I really want to   enjoy the product and not put it away unseen  on the bookshelf now this situation has made   me think and later in the video I therefore  have a very important announcement for you ‘Elvis ’57: The Final Fifties Tours’ is a new  FTD book release. The book features over 300

(08:34) photos of which many are rare and unpublished.  The 500-page book comes with a 4-track 33rpm   vinyl EP. 1957 is a less documented year in the  Elvis bibliography. In 1957 Elvis went back on   the road for three short tours visiting eighteen  major cities in the United States and Canada.   Elvis “57 is a re-release of Alan Hanson’s  sensational book from 2007.

(09:08) At the time it   was a 329 page paperback edition measuring 6 x 9  inches with only 19 photos. Now 18 years later,   a few minor errors in the original text have  been corrected and the number of photos in   the book has grown from 19 to 300 photos from  the collection of Pal Granlund. Alan Hanson   discovered that Elvis played the song ‘Fools Hall  of Fame’ during his Vancouver (August 31) and   Seattle (September 1) shows which he introduced  as ‘my next single’.

(09:45) There are 2 theories about   a studio recording because according to DJ  Fontana they did attempt the song in the   studio. OR the song never got further than  the rehearsal stage OR never a satisfactory   take was recorded and the tape went missing or  was erased during the 1959 RCA vault clean up. Collectors label Follow That Dream records  announced the June 2025 release of the Harum   Scarum Sessions triple CD set to commemorate  the 60th anniversary of the recording session.

(10:22) CD’s 1 and 2 offer newly mixed masters  and outtakes in far superior audio. And   CD 3 has the original 1965 LP masters. Unreliable  sources say that the set comes with a free turban. As I showed you in the video I would  like to have some more free time for   my Elvis hobby i still enjoy making the  Elvis pressing news support videos and I   know that my work is highly appreciated by you  the disadvantage however is that it puts a lot   of time pressure on me because everyone knows  that my video goes live on the last Friday of

(11:08) each month in addition I noticed that news  videos have a very limited shelf life i see   that after a while the views drop sharply  because after a month news becomes old news   as a news reporter I am always dependent on  the news that becomes available every month   sometimes that’s a lot but more often it is  little however I do foresee that as we move   towards August 16 2027 there will be a few more  major projects that I would like to report on   but after the activities leading up to the  50th anniversary of Elvis’s death it will

(11:54) become relatively quiet around Elvis this has  made me decide to stop with the Elvis Press   news report as of December 2027 i will continue on  YouTube but it will no longer be Elvis news videos   the plan is to first take a rest and master a new  video package as soon as I have mastered this new   technique I want to start making videos about  Elvis again this could be a review of a book   or a CD or a moment from Elvis’s career that I  would like to delve into a little more deeply   so make good videos with more depth and without  the time pressure i also want to make videos of

(12:47) non-ELE Elvis topics there’s a lot that interests  me including history and the world we currently   live in i think that there’s a market for that too  by monetizing my channel a few years ago I managed   to build me a small studio with the advertising  money I was able to buy studio lights microphones   a green screen and an expensive 4K camera every  time you clicked onto my videos it brought me   some money back into the cash drawer thank you for  that but what I’ve learned most in recent years is

(13:28) that I now know how to edit a video so that it  ultimately becomes a beautiful product and with   these skills I want to continue making the riot  videos after 2027 but without the time constraints   and with more time for other fun things in life  but until December 2027 I still will be spreading   an Elvis Presley news report into the world  every last Friday of the month [Music] goodbye As the years progress it is inevitable that more  and more people who had a connection with Elvis   are dying. And this month it is no exception that  I have to report about it. The most well-known to

(14:19) Elvis fans is Elvis’s pianist David Briggs who  played keyboards on multiple Elvis sessions as   well as touring with the TCB Band. Briggs started  working with Elvis in 1966 when he was asked to   sit in until Floyd Cramer arrived at the’ ‘How  Great Though Art’ sessions. The first thing Elvis   asked Briggs was to play piano to the song ‘Love  Letters’ and after an impressing performance Elvis   told Briggs to continue playing keyboards on  the rest of the session.

(14:56) On New Year’s Eve 1975   at Pontiac Stadium, David Briggs would join with  the TCB Band and in 1976, after Glen Hardin left,   he joined the band full-time touring with Elvis.  David Briggs would leave the TCB Band after the   February 1977 tour when Elvis discovered that  David was having a relationship with Elvis’s   ex-girlfriend Linda Thompson.

(15:24) The relationship  between David and Linda would last for three   years. In 1982 David Briggs produced the remix  Sessions for ‘The Elvis Medley’. The single   would chart at #51 UK and #71 in Billboard Top  100. A year later – in 1983 – he also produced   the “overdub” sessions for the ‘I Was The One’  album which did not chart . David Briggs was 82.  Will Hutchins was a co-star in two of Elvis’s  movies.

(15:59) He first appeared as Tracy Richards in   the 1966 movie Spinout. A year later he had a  much bigger role when his character Tom Wilson   played opposite Elvis in the 1967 movie  Clambake. Fans probably will remember the   duet in that movie of Who Needs Money in which  Will Hutchins lips synced to the voice of Ray   Walker. Asked about his experiences with Elvis,  Will Hutchins was always very positive.

(16:29) Quote:   “I’m sure if the Colonel had allowed him to  accept meatier roles, he’d have won an Oscar.   The camera loved Elvis. He was the most talented  fellow I ever worked with. Will Hutchins was 94. Hollywood actress and singer Joan O’Brien  played Elvis Presley’s romantic interest   in the 1963 movie It Happened at the World’s  Fair.

(16:59) She played the character of Diane Warren,   the World’s Fair nurse and the love  interest of Elvis’ character Mike Edwards.   She attends to Elvis’s character in the movie  when he suffers a leg injury after he asked   a young boy (played by Kurt Russell) to  kick him in the shin. At the end of the   movie Joan O’Brien can be heard singing  with Elvis to the song Happy Ending.

(17:23) Joan   O’Brien has died at the age of 89 following  a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. it’s trivia time and because I do  not want to exceed the 20inut mark   of my videos I decided to keep the trivia  section for this time short and snappy in   last month’s video I was playing  you three tiny snippets of Elvis   songs and the question was what do  these three songs have in common [Music] the answer is that a woman’s name is mentioned  in all the song titles the trivia question for   this month is relatively easy and because of  that I challenge you to try to give an answer

(18:22) from the top of your head can you tell me what  Elvis’s last 12in vinyl movie soundtrack was   and when I say movie I don’t mean documentary  and it must be recorded prior to 1977 so that   one does not count post your answer in  the comments below good luck everybody To prevent vandalism such as writing  messages and names by Graceland visitors,   a fence has been placed around the official  historic marker on Elvis Presley Boulevard.

(19:02) In my opinion the new fence looks terrible and  takes away much of the charm of the sidewalk   in front of Graceland. Why didn’t they just  place the historic marker behind the wall to   prevent vandalism and as a side effect give  the street its original appearance back? that was the news for this time check back  next month if you want to keep up with all   the latest Elvis news until then have a happy  Elvis Presley day you have a happy you have a [Music] happy did I hear someone say something about Elvis
