Introduction

Over 900 memorabilia items from world-renowned music stars, including Eric Clapton, Elvis Presley, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, will be auctioned in New York this week.

The first item up for auction is an acoustic guitar that Eric Clapton owned and played on stage during a 1970 concert in London.

Martin Nolan, CEO of Julien’s auction house, said the guitar is expected to fetch between $300,000 and $500,000. Artists will perform guitars and other props online on November 19th and 20th at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York.

The guitar that Elvis Presley played and later gifted to Norman Taurog, who directed several films about the legendary singer, could fetch up to $90,000. The auction also includes a Madonna outfit from the film Evita, valued at $12,000. Dresses by Amy Winehouse and Katy Perry are also highly sought after by collectors.

Several memorabilia items from the rock band Nirvana and its frontman Kurt Cobain were also auctioned off. “We have a photo of Kurt Cobain as a teenager – it’s very rare to see a picture of Kurt Cobain when he was so young – and tickets to Nirvana concerts. Anything related to Kurt Cobain is highly sought after,” Martin Nolan stated.
